How we built The Flashlight: a horror story made of light and sound
The Flashlight is a five-minute horror story that runs in a browser, where the light is the game. How we built it: a head torch, a house generated as the page opens, and spatial sound made while you play.

What does Bcube do?
Bcube (Bcube Technology Services LLC) is a technology studio in Dubai that designs and builds interactive and immersive experiences: brand activations, interactive installations, games, AR and VR, and real-time 3D, along with the web platforms and mobile apps behind them. Design, engineering, 3D and hardware integration are one in-house team.
Where is Bcube based, and who does it work with?
Bcube is based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and works with clients across the region. It builds for brands, retailers, venues, government bodies and corporate organisations, both directly and as the technology partner behind creative and event agencies.
What technology does Bcube use?
Unity and Unreal Engine for games, VR, AR and installations; three.js, PlayCanvas and WebGL for real-time 3D in the browser; ARKit, ARCore and WebXR for augmented reality; React, Next.js and Node.js for web platforms; and Swift, Kotlin and React Native for mobile. Show hardware is connected over NDI, OSC, DMX and MIDI.
How does a project with Bcube start?
Send an enquiry through the contact page and the team replies within one working day. Every project starts with a proposal and a fixed quote; where the idea is new, a proof of concept comes first. Then two-week build increments, launch support (on site where there is a venue) and a handover your own team can pick up.
Can I see Bcube’s work before getting in touch?
Yes. The projects page shows delivered work for automotive, retail, government and corporate clients, and the Lab has working 3D demos that run in the browser with nothing to install.
